We found these products, along with many others in the Smashbox line, through the company website and other fine department stores and online retailers. The products are reasonably priced, ranging from $30 to $42 at the time of this review.

Unfortunately, we were unable to find complete ingredient lists for either of the Smashbox products. This is always a concern for those with sensitive skin, since irritation and skin allergies could be a problem. The Photo Finish Primer is said to contain vitamins, antioxidants and dermaxyl. Dermaxyl is also known as palmitoyl oligopeptide, which is a common ingredient in anti-aging products. While peptides are always a positive in products designed for this purpose, there are better ones to choose from. Palmitoyl pentapeptide (matrixyl) and acetyl hexapeptide (argireline) both contain peptide complexes that have been proven to reduce the signs of aging by a significant degree.

The other product, Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion, does not claim to contain any anti-aging ingredients. Instead, it claims to enhance the look of the skin and diminish the signs of aging from a cosmetic standpoint – by softening the way light reflects off the skin and thereby reducing the appearance of aging. The product does contain ginkgo biloba and green tea, which can contribute to the overall health of your skin.
